Hyderabad car crash kills techie, injures brother and child

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old IT employee from Prakasam district was killed and two others were injured in a Hyderabad car crash that occurred on the Outer Ring Road near Thondapalli village in Shamshabad on Sunday morning.

According to a police complaint filed by his wife, Devarapalli Janakamma, the deceased, Devarapalli Ashok Kumar, was travelling with his brother and daughter in a car bearing registration number AP29 BU 5005 when the vehicle collided with an unidentified vehicle from behind. The crash took place around 6 a.m. on 28 September.

Ashok Kumar died on the spot. His brother, Uday Bhaskar Reddy, also an employee, sustained a head injury. The couple’s five-year-old daughter, Nithisha, suffered injuries to her private parts. All three were headed towards Manikonda in Hyderabad at the time of the accident.

The injured were shifted to Arkan Hospital in Shamshabad.

The complaint was received by the police at 10 a.m. on Sunday. A case has been registered at Shamshabad Police Station under Cr. No. 887/2025, invoking Sections 106(1) and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation has been assigned to Sub-Inspector T. Indrasena Reddy.
