Hyderabad: The Husnabad Municipality budget for 2026–27 received unanimous approval at a council meeting on Wednesday. Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar attended the meeting and urged officials to use funds effectively for town development.
The meeting took place at the municipal office under the chairmanship of Municipal Chairperson Dandi Lakshmi.
The council presented the annual budget with a projected revenue of ₹21.88 crore. The budget also proposed the same amount as expenditure. Council members approved the proposal unanimously.

Addressing the meeting, the minister said officials must utilise municipal funds carefully. Moreover, he asked them to improve civic infrastructure and basic services.
Meanwhile, he assured that authorities would secure additional funds from the Central and State governments. Local MP support would help bring more development funds.
Furthermore, the minister stressed better sanitation and more greenery in the town. Therefore, he said these steps would create a clean environment for future generations.
Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Abdul Hameed urged officials to develop the town under the “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” programme.
Later, Chairperson Dandi Lakshmi said the municipality would implement development works under the minister’s guidance.
Vice Chairperson Chittari Padma, Municipal Commissioner Mallikarjun, councillors and municipal staff attended the meeting.
