High Court rejects BRS leader Aamer Shakil’s plea to quash FIR

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday rejected a petition filed by former BRS MLA Aamer Shakil to quash a criminal case lodged by Panjagutta police.

The case stems from an incident last year when Shakil’s son, Sahil, allegedly drove a car at high speed and crashed into a traffic barricade near Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad. In the aftermath, Shakil was accused of interfering in the legal process by attempting to shield his son from police action.

Panjagutta police registered a case against the former Bodhan legislator and issued a lookout notice. Shakil later approached the High Court to have the FIR cancelled, but the court dismissed his plea after hearing the arguments.
