Heavy rains flood Koti ENT Hospital, low-lying areas waterlogged in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Heavy rains Hyderabad flooded Koti ENT Hospital and left several parts of the city waterlogged on Friday. The city has been receiving nonstop rain since Thursday night.

Nearly three feet of water entered Koti ENT Hospital, halting services. Overflowing drains also brought in silt, creating mounds of sand inside the hospital. Patients and staff struggled to manage the situation.

Areas such as Abids, Nampally, Khairatabad, Punjagutta, Ameerpet, SR Nagar, Kukatpally, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Madhapur, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Mehdipatnam, Chandrayangutta, LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet, Uppal, Secunderabad, Musheerabad, Osmania University, Nallakunta, and RTC Crossroads saw heavy showers through the morning.

Floodwater entered several low-lying colonies. Water also blocked many main roads, causing major traffic snarls and delays for commuters.
