Hyderabad: A heatwave alert was issued for several districts in Telangana as the Meteorological Department forecast dry weather conditions across the state on Monday.
Under the heatwave alert, officials predicted severe hot winds in Rajanna Sircilla, Asifabad, Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad and Jagtial districts. The department also issued a yellow alert and advised people to remain cautious.
Meanwhile, the Amaravati Meteorological Department forecast light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in parts of Andhra Pradesh. Officials said isolated showers could occur in Manyam, Alluri, Polavaram, Chittoor, Anantapur and Kurnool districts.
Heatwave alert continues in north coastal districts
Weather officials warned of intense heat and hot wind conditions in several mandals of Srikakulam district. The affected areas include Amadalavalasa, Burja, Hiramandalam, Kanchili, Nandigam, Pathapatnam and Sompeta.
Similarly, authorities forecast severe heat conditions in several mandals of Vizianagaram district. The list includes Badangi, Bobbili, Bondapalli, Dattirajeru, Gantyada, Merakamudidam, Ramabhadrapuram, Santakaviti, Terlam and Vangara.
In Manyam district, officials warned of high temperatures in Balijipeta, Garugubilli, Gumma Lakshmipuram, Jiyyammavalasa, Komarada, Kurupam, Pachipenta, Palakonda, Salur, Seethampeta and Veeraghattam mandals.
