Hyderabad: BRS senior leader and former minister T. Harish Rao is set to meet party chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at Erravalli farmhouse on Saturday, hours after returning from London.
The meeting comes in the wake of sensational allegations made by BRS MLC K. Kavitha, who accused Harish Rao and MP Santhosh Rao of maintaining links with Congress and BJP leaders in an attempt to split the Kalvakuntla family and seize control of the party.
Harish Rao to meet KCR amid Kavitha’s charges
Party insiders said Harish Rao, who landed in Hyderabad earlier in the day, will discuss Kavitha’s remarks directly with KCR. The meeting is expected to take place later in the evening at the Erravalli farmhouse.
Meanwhile, the BRS social media team issued posts extending support to Harish Rao, which has triggered speculation that KCR continues to stand by him despite Kavitha’s criticism.
BRS faces internal turbulence
The public rift between Kavitha and Harish Rao has fueled discussions over factionalism within the BRS at a time when the party is battling political setbacks. Leaders close to the party said KCR’s intervention will be crucial in deciding how the leadership manages the crisis.
