Hyderabad: The decision of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to release the EAPCET results from his residence in Jubilee Hills has drawn sharp criticism from former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao, who called the move an act of arrogance and disregard for governance protocols.
Harish Rao, in a strongly worded statement, accused the Chief Minister of treating the state administration lightly by turning his private home into a platform for what is considered one of Telangana’s most prestigious academic announcements. He said such an act reflects a casual and disrespectful attitude towards students and the public education system.
“No Chief Minister or minister in the 77-year history of independent India has ever released competitive exam results from their home,” Harish Rao pointed out, questioning the precedent being set. He criticised the trend of running the government either from the Command Control Centre or from the Jubilee Hills residence, instead of the state secretariat, which he said remains largely ignored.
“The Chief Minister neither allows the police to function independently nor permits bureaucrats to do their jobs properly. Is this what public governance looks like?” Harish Rao asked, lashing out at what he called an increasingly centralised and personality-driven administration.
Despite his criticism of the venue, Harish Rao took a moment to extend congratulations to students who secured ranks in the EAPCET results.
