Hyderabad: Senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former minister Harish Rao called on party president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at his residence in Erravalli. The meeting comes in the wake of the Justice PC Ghosh Commission issuing notices to both leaders in connection with its investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project.
This marks the second known interaction between the two leaders since the commission initiated formal summons. Sources indicate that the discussion focused on legal strategy and the party’s coordinated response to the ongoing inquiry.
The Justice PC Ghosh Commission, which is examining the construction and operation of barrages under the Kaleshwaram project, has directed KCR, Harish Rao, and BJP MP Etala Rajender to appear before it within 15 days. All three were key decision-makers during the period under review – KCR as the Chief Minister, Harish Rao as Irrigation Minister, and Rajender handling the Finance portfolio.
The commission is scrutinising procedural and financial aspects of the project amid allegations of mismanagement and cost escalations.
