HYDERABAD: Senior BRS leader and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao has claimed that people, disillusioned with both the BJP and Congress, are increasingly gravitating towards the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). His remarks came as nearly 50 BJP leaders and activists from Zaheerabad constituency on Friday, led by MLA Manik Rao, joined the BRS.
Harish Rao extended a warm welcome to the new members, offering them party stoles at a formal event. Responding to the development on Twitter, he launched a scathing attack on both national parties.
He accused the BJP of completely neglecting Telangana, saying the state has faced only injustice under the BJP-led Centre. He was equally critical of the ruling Congress government in Telangana, calling it a failure on all fronts.
“The people are tired of the deception and inefficiency of both BJP and Congress. That’s why they are now looking to BRS for a credible alternative,” he said.
Harish Rao specifically criticised the Congress for ignoring key irrigation projects like Sangameshwar and Basaveshwar, and for showing utter negligence towards Sangareddy district. He said the neglect has left farmers in tears, struggling for water and support.
Asserting that BRS would return to power, Harish Rao said the party would continue to fight for farmers and raise public issues until then.
