Hyderabad: Siddipet BRS MLA and former Telangana Minister T. Harish Rao visited the Bhagyalakshmi Temple near Charminar on the occasion of Deepavali and offered special prayers to the goddess. He was accompanied by Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy. Moreover, priests performed rituals and blessed them with teertha prasadam after chanting Vedic hymns.
Speaking after the visit, Harish Rao said he felt happy to seek the blessings of Goddess Bhagyalakshmi on the festival of lights. He added that Hyderabad stands as a symbol of communal harmony. Furthermore, he prayed for the city’s continued progress and prosperity.
Harish Rao Bhagyalakshmi Temple visit sparks criticism of Congress government
Rao expressed concern over the recent killing of a police constable in the state, calling it deeply unfortunate. He alleged that the Congress government had failed to maintain law and order. Moreover, he said it was regrettable that even police officers were not safe. Therefore, he urged the state to extend immediate support to the constable’s family.
In addition, the BRS leader accused ruling party leaders of threatening industrialists with guns. He demanded a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge into the allegations involving a minister’s daughter. “If there was no wrongdoing, why did the police visit the minister’s residence?” he asked.
Meanwhile, Rao alleged that Hyderabad had been turned into a “gun state” under the current Congress rule. He recalled that the previous BRS government had welcomed investors with a red-carpet approach. However, he claimed the present administration had created fear among investors through violence and illegal extortion.
Finally, he remarked that the BRS had promoted agriculture and growth, while the Congress was promoting “gun culture.” “That is the real difference between BRS and Congress,” Rao stated.
