Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma distributed digital assistive devices to visually challenged students and merit scholarships to students from weaker sections at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday.
The event marked one of the first public programmes at Lok Bhavan after its renaming. The Governor said the occasion reflected the goal of service and inclusion behind the new name.
The small digital devices help users sense obstacles through vibration alerts. Officials said the devices enhance safety and mobility for visually impaired students.

Speaking at the programme, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma described the initiative as a positive start to the New Year. He said such efforts should guide future public service activities.
The Governor praised the Indian Red Cross Society, Telangana State Branch, for its support. He also thanked the Mana America Telugu Association and Sankalp Foundation for their help.
Officials said similar programmes would continue to support students with support needs and those from poor backgrounds.
