GHMC Mayor tells officials to speed up Prajavani complaint resolutions

Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on Monday instructed officials to ensure there is no delay in addressing public complaints raised under the Prajavani programme. She reviewed the issues along with GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan at the corporation’s headquarters.

Residents from different areas met the Mayor directly to submit their petitions. Vijayalakshmi said resolving citizens’ grievances was a top priority and assured that each application would be examined in coordination with the concerned departments.

She directed officials to clear complaints without delay. Several petitions were received on sanitation, road repairs, drainage, and property tax. Vijayalakshmi interacted directly with the complainants and stated that even those submitting complaints through the online portal and mobile app would get the same priority. She stressed that citizen involvement was essential to develop Hyderabad further.

Commissioner Karnan instructed staff to resolve petitions quickly and warned departmental officials of action if delays occurred.

At the program, 71 petitions were registered at the GHMC headquarters: 40 with the Town Planning wing, 9 with the Tax Section, 4 each with Sanitation and Vigilance, 3 with Engineering, and 1 each with Finance, Estate, Sports, UBD, Secunderabad Zone, Kukatpally Zone, and Housing. Four complaints were received through the phone-in facility.

Across GHMC’s six zones, 107 petitions came in: 49 from Kukatpally, 25 from Secunderabad, 13 from Serilingampally, 10 from LB Nagar, 9 from Charminar, and one from Khairatabad.

Additional commissioners Venugopal, Satyanarayana, Raghu Prasad, CCP Srinivas, Vigilance Additional SP Srinivas, Town Planning Additional CCPs Venkanna, Gangadhar, Pradeep Ranjith, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Padmaja, Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Abdul Vakeel, Revenue J.C. Vanisri, Deputy CE Panasa Reddy, Housing EE Rajeshwara Rao, AE Balaji, SNDP Deputy CE P V Rao, Assistant Advertisement Officer Mohammed Durdhana Bhanu, and other staff were present.
