GHMC Google partnership to deploy AI for tenders, chatbots, waste, health, and transport in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: GHMC partnered with Google to overhaul civic systems using AI, cloud, and blockchain tools. Senior municipal and IT officials held a virtual meeting with Google Cloud Platform on Monday evening to discuss the rollout.
The initiative is set to roll out generative AI-powered search bars across public websites and government portals, making it easier for citizens to find information quickly. Conversational chatbots are also in the works—designed to assist both the public and government staff—along with AI tools to streamline query sorting and response.
There’s more on the table. Blockchain-based credentials are being considered for secure, tamper-proof delivery of government services to citizens. Officials are also exploring AI-driven tender evaluations, auto-filled forms, and live bus tracking through Google Maps.
The GHMC has its eye on using AI for smarter urban management too—think intelligent parking systems, better solid waste tracking, and predictive traffic safety models. They also plan to tap into Google Cloud to manage and monitor public complaint records more effectively.
Citywide public health analytics, mosquito-borne disease monitoring, rapid-response medical services, and lake pollution tracking are among other targets. An AI assistant named ‘Manya’ will support ASHA workers.
Analysts noted the upgrades could improve urban living standards. The project is also expected to reduce the administrative load on municipal officials.
