Hyderabad: Tripuraram police arrested four men for selling ganja near Gangadevemma temple, while Miryalaguda Rural police detained two suspects in a separate case on Thursday.
DSP Rajashekar Raju said Kommera Shiva and Challa Anjilu from Macherla brought ganja to sell it to their friends Pillipalli Manikantha from Mudimanikyam, Dandu Vinod from Peddadevulapalli, and Bandi Kotes from Tripuraram. Police caught the group at Tripuraram while they were selling the contraband. Officers seized 1.6 kg of ganja, ₹1,100 in cash, and a two-wheeler. Anjilu fled, but police remanded the remaining four.
He added that CI Satish Reddy, SI Naresh, and other staff took part in the operation.
In another case under Miryalaguda Rural police limits, officers arrested two men for selling ganja near Guduru. SI Lakshmayya said Amaralingam from Andhra Pradesh, Pulijala Lakshminarayana from Miryalaguda town, Sheikh Riyaz from Guduru mandal, and Kamaji Vamsi from Miryalaguda brought ganja to sell in the area. Police detained Riyaz and Vamsi and sent them to court. The other two escaped.
