Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi launches new women’s facilities in Banjara Hills

Hyderabad: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said the state government is giving top priority to women’s welfare and development, while inaugurating new civic infrastructure for women in the Banjara Hills division on Sunday.

She opened the newly constructed ground floor of a women’s bhavan on Road No. 12, built with a budget of ₹29 lakh. She was accompanied by Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender. Later, both leaders also inaugurated a new G+3 multipurpose modern community hall proposed in Sriramnagar with a project cost of ₹2 crore.

The mayor said the modern facility was made possible through her personal initiative and GHMC’s coordinated efforts. She noted that under Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership, the state has implemented several focused programmes for women.

She added that over the past five years, GHMC has worked in sync with the state to prioritise women’s needs and ensure inclusive growth. The mayor reiterated her commitment to creating safe, accessible, and multi-functional spaces for women across the city.
