Gaddar Film Awards return after 14 years, to be presented in grand ceremony tonight

Hyderabad: After more than a decade, the Gaddar Film Awards are making a grand comeback. The much-anticipated ceremony will unfold this evening at Hall-4 of the Hitex Exhibition Center, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy headlining the guest list alongside several ministers and dignitaries.

The event, touted as the most prestigious film awards presented by the Telangana government, is set to begin at 6 PM and promises a star-studded affair.

This year marks a significant revival, with awards being presented for the first time in nearly 14 years. The long gap hasn’t dampened the scale. In fact, the organisers have doubled down on the glamour handing out accolades not just for 2024, but also honouring standout performances and productions spanning the past decade, from 2014 to 2023.

Categories will include Best Hero, Heroine, Director, and Producer for the retrospective segment, while the 2024 awards will feature a full slate across all departments.

Preparations have been in full swing, with invitations already sent out and logistics being finalised for the big evening. Overseeing the event is renowned producer and Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, under whose guidance the awards are being organised on an elaborate scale.

Tonight’s celebration is expected to not only revive a key cultural institution but also reaffirm the state’s commitment to recognising cinematic excellence in Telugu film.
