Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police conducted a food adulteration drive in Mailardevpally and seized substandard food items worth about Rs. 2,00,000 from four manufacturing units.
The special drive took place on 08.04.2026 within the limits of Mailardevpally Police Station. Teams inspected multiple food manufacturing units involved in sweets, bakery products, snacks, and other edible items.
During the inspections, officials identified adulterated and low-quality food products. The seizures were made from four units: Maruthi Foods in Kattedan, Indian Bakery and Sweets House, Krishna Food Products in Laxmiguda, and BS Food Products in Laxmiguda.
Police registered cases against the respective unit owners under relevant legal provisions. Authorities said action was taken based on violations found during the inspections.

Officials stated that the drive focused on ensuring food safety and preventing the sale of unsafe products. Inspection teams checked hygiene standards, raw materials, and storage conditions at the units.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajendranagar Zone, said such enforcement drives would continue. He added that strict action would be taken against those compromising public health.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing. Police said additional checks may follow in other areas to curb food adulteration practices.
