Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a women’s hostel in Musheerabad after a geyser reportedly exploded due to a short circuit, prompting an emergency response that averted a major tragedy.
The incident occurred at Sudhama PG Accommodation for Women in Gandhi Nagar, within the limits of Musheerabad police station. Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control using three fire engines.
Two women who were trapped inside the building were rescued by local residents with the help of a ladder. Officials said most students were away at the time, which prevented casualties.

The fire destroyed furniture, clothes, and other personal belongings kept inside the hostel rooms. No injuries were reported, according to police.
Police launched an investigation to verify the cause of the fire and to check whether the building complied with prescribed fire safety norms. Further action will follow based on the findings, officials said.
