EAGLE Force arrests 3 ganja peddlers on trains, seizes 8.1 kg contraband

Hyderabad: The Telangana EAGLE Force, in coordination with the Railway Police, arrested three ganja peddlers and seized 8.1 kg of contraband in two separate operations aboard passenger trains.

In the first incident, officials acting on specific intelligence nabbed two men Muna Prusty and Tikash Barik from Ganjam district, Odisha aboard the Konark Express. They had reportedly boarded the train at Baharampur and were en route to Mumbai with 7 kg of ganja for sale.

In a separate case, a routine check on the LTT Express led to the arrest of M. Mohan Kumar Vijay. He was carrying 1.1 kg of ganja while travelling to Patancheru. During questioning, he confessed that he purchased the drug in Laxmipur, Odisha, for personal use.

The Telangana Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) reiterated its commitment to eradicating drug networks operating across transport routes.

“Let’s build a drug-free Telangana,” the agency appealed in its statement.
