Hyderabad: Tension broke out at a press conference held by MLC Teemaar Mallanna on BC reservations when a group of DSC aspirants confronted him over his silence on their issues.
The event, organised by the Political BC JAC, was meant to address backward class reservation demands. However, it was disrupted as DSC-affected candidates arrived in large numbers and interrupted Mallanna’s address. They accused him of abandoning their cause despite securing their votes during his election.
Chanting slogans and demanding immediate support, the protestors questioned why he had not raised their concerns publicly. BC JAC leaders called for calm and tried to ease tensions, but a heated exchange broke out between protesters and the event organisers.
Under growing pressure and unable to quell the unrest, Mallanna is said to have left the venue without responding to the crowd’s demands.
