HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka confronted BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy during the Telangana Assembly session on Wednesday, demanding that he substantiate his claims regarding the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme. Reddy alleged that the government spent more on advertisements than the allocated budget for the scheme, asserting that ₹4 crore was utilized for the program while ₹40 crore was expended on publicity. In response, Vikramarka challenged Reddy to provide evidence supporting these figures and criticized the dissemination of unverified information. He emphasized that the scheme aims to financially support state students appearing for Civil Services exams, enhancing the state’s reputation and future prospects. Vikramarka underscored the importance of accurate information in legislative discussions and cautioned against misleading statements that could misguide the Assembly and the public.
