Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police rescued 352 children under Operation Smile-XII and intensified crackdowns on trafficking and social crimes across the commissionerate this January.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) registered 110 cases under the Juvenile Justice and Child Labour Acts during the month-long operation. The rescue efforts were conducted across various locations under Cyberabad Commissionerate limits.

In parallel, the SHE Teams carried out 138 decoy operations targeting public indecency and harassment. Police caught 42 individuals red-handed, booked 47 petty cases, and counselled several other offenders. The teams also received 27 complaints from women through multiple channels.

Cyberabad Police also reunited 22 estranged families at Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres. As part of their preventive strategy, AHTU and SHE Teams organised awareness programmes on child protection and women’s safety.

Over 5,800 people attended these awareness sessions, which covered critical issues including child trafficking, cyberbullying, child marriages, online fraud, social media harassment, and stalking. Participants were educated about helpline services like 181 for women, 1098 for children, 100 for emergency assistance, and 1930 for financial cybercrimes.

Officials said the drives aimed not only to rescue victims but also to empower communities with information and vigilance.
