Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police conducted a large-scale fire mock drill on Thursday at its commissionerate premises in coordination with the Telangana State Fire Department, aiming to strengthen disaster response mechanisms and safety protocols.
The simulation included a live demonstration by Madhapur Station Fire Officer Anjaneyulu Dodla, who instructed attendees on handling various fire emergencies, using fire safety equipment, and executing safe evacuations.
The drill began with a fire alarm, triggering an immediate evacuation of all personnel from the Cyberabad Police Commissioner’s Office. Staff followed designated routes to the Assembly Point near the National Flag Post, guided by trained Fire Marshals.
Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty, IPS, and Joint Commissioner Dr Gajarao Bhupal, IPS, oversaw the exercise and highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination and personal preparedness.

Personnel from multiple police wings including Traffic, Cybercrime, SHE Teams, Special Branch, Economic Offences Wing, Bomb Disposal Squad, and CAR Headquarters actively participated. Emergency systems such as fire alarms, lift circuit breakers, and the Public Address System were activated as per Standard Operating Procedures.
Simulated rescue operations added realism to the drill, reinforcing procedures for high-risk situations.
Senior officers present included DCP Crimes A. Muthyam Reddy, DCP Road Safety L.C. Naik, DCP Special Branch Sai Sri, DCP Women & Child Safety Wing Srujana Karnam, and ADCP Administration Ravichandan Reddy. Telangana Fire Services personnel including SFOs Anjaneyulu Dodla, Prashanth, trainee SFO Gopal, and Madhapur station staff were also in attendance.
