Cyberabad CP highlights role of sports in policing

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty on Tuesday said sports events and duty meets played a key role in improving professional skills and boosting morale among police personnel.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the annual police sports and duty meet at the Cyberabad Commissionerate Grounds, Mohanty said such programmes helped officers enhance both physical fitness and work efficiency.

He said the duty meet tested officers on technical and legal aspects, which helped improve their overall performance. According to him, combining practical knowledge with field-based assessments strengthened professional competence.

The commissioner said sports activities helped reduce work-related stress among police personnel. He added that the events also encouraged physical endurance and team spirit.

Mohanty said such programmes promoted mutual understanding and a friendly atmosphere among officers. He noted that this positive environment reflected in both official duties and personal lives.

He appreciated the Crime Wing and CTC for jointly organising the events successfully. The commissioner also congratulated police personnel who participated enthusiastically in the sports and duty meet.
