Hyderabad: CPI State Secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao on Saturday urged voters in Jubilee Hills to support the Congress candidate in the November 11 by-election. He warned that a BRS victory would ultimately aid the BJP.
Speaking at Maqdhoom Bhavan, Rao said the BRS had repeatedly aligned with BJP interests, especially during key elections. He alleged that pending cases against BRS leaders had forced the party to adopt pro-BJP stances. He described the BRS as “unstable and opportunistic” and claimed both parties maintained an internal friendship despite public disagreements.

Rao was joined by CPI National Executive Member Pashya Padma and State Assistant Secretary E.T. Narasimha. He said the CPI would continue to raise people’s issues and hold the Congress government accountable. However, he stressed that defeating both BRS and BJP in Jubilee Hills was critical.
He also criticised the Modi-led central government for what he called “conspiratorial politics,” including alleged attempts to suppress voters through electoral roll manipulation.
Rao noted the resurgence of left-wing politics globally. He cited recent efforts to unify communist parties in Nepal and the growing influence of the left in Sri Lanka as signs of the ideological shift.
