CP Sajjanar urges motorists to avoid travel during dense fog

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar urged motorists to avoid travel during dense fog and advised them to start journeys only after visibility improves.

In a post on X, Sajjanar said thick fog across the state had turned roads extremely dangerous. He warned that driving without clear visibility posed a serious risk, especially during early morning and late-night hours.

Amid Sankranti travel, he appealed to people not to let festive urgency put their lives in danger. He said reaching home safely mattered more than rushing to celebrate.

Fog warning issued amid Sankranti travel rush

During heavy fog conditions, Sajjanar advised people to avoid travelling in personal vehicles. He cautioned motorists against pre-dawn and midnight journeys, when visibility remained poor.

Urging patience, he asked travellers to wait until the fog cleared and roads became clearly visible. He said families waited anxiously for their loved ones and deserved happiness, not tragedy.

Listing safety measures, the police commissioner asked motorists to switch on fog lights and indicators. He also stressed the need to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead.

Even if roads appeared empty, Sajjanar warned against overspeeding. He said reaching home safely, even after a delay, reflected the true spirit of the festival.
