CP Sajjanar recalls Savitribai Phule’s role in women’s empowerment

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar paid rich tributes to Savitribai Phule on the occasion of Savitribai Phule Jayanti. In a post on X, he described her as a courageous woman who erased social inequalities through the power of education.

He said Savitribai Phule faced obstacles and humiliation at every step but overcame them with determination and a smile. He noted that she dedicated her life to spreading literacy and knowledge among future generations despite severe social resistance.

Savitribai Phule Jayanti and her lasting legacy

Recalling Savitribai Phule Jayanti, Sajjanar said she was India’s first woman teacher and a pioneering social reformer. He referred to her as “Krantijyoti” and said her work laid a strong foundation for women’s empowerment in the country.

Sajjanar added that the light of education ignited by Savitribai Phule continued to guide society. He said her legacy remained relevant in today’s efforts toward equality and women’s empowerment.
