Hyderabad: Police conducted a cordon and search operation in Reinbazar under the supervision of DCP Charminar Zone Sri Kiran Khare Prabhakar, IPS, to curb illegal activities and strengthen public safety.
Senior officers, including the Additional DCP and ACP, led the drive. Ch. Nethaji, SHO of Reinbazar Police Station, coordinated the operation with support from armed personnel.
During the intensive cordon and search, police seized 37 two-wheelers. Officers found that the vehicles either had no number plates or carried tampered or improper plates.
Authorities also picked up six rowdy sheeters — Syed Ali, Habeeb Sikander, Talib Khan, Jaffar Ali, Ali Hussain and Syeeduddin and verified their current activities.
Cordon and search yields illegal weapons and ganja
In addition, police identified and verified nine suspect sheet persons. These included Khaled, Sameer, Aziz Baba, Hyder Ahmed, Ibrahim, Ibrahim Khan, Syed Ali, Shaik Mohammed and Azhar.
The cordon and search led to the seizure of three dangerous knives and one hukka set. Furthermore, officers recovered five packets of illegal cannabis (ganja) and three small gas cylinders stored unlawfully.
Police said the operation aimed to maintain law and order across the Charminar Zone. Meanwhile, the DCP stated that such cordon and search drives will continue to instill confidence among residents and deter criminal activity.
