Hyderabad: Congress leader and Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has credited the party’s focused campaign in Yousufguda division as a decisive factor in its Jubilee Hills bye-election victory. The Congress secured 51% of the total vote share, with Yousufguda division registering the highest ward-level support at 55%.
Uttam Kumar Reddy, who was part of the campaign team in the division, said the 21% lead over the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Yousufguda significantly boosted the party’s constituency-wide performance. “This result reflects our grassroots strategy and disciplined management in key wards,” he said in a social media post.
The Congress registered strong vote shares in most of the seven wards, including 53% in Rahamath Nagar, 52% in Vengal Rao Nagar, and 51% in Somajiguda. The party’s lowest support was in Shaikpet and Erragadda, both at 48%.
BRS finished second with 38% of the votes, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed 9%, and other candidates accounted for 2%. The total turnout across all wards was 1,94,631 voters.
