Congress is only party that respects all religions equally, says TPCC chief

Hyderabad: TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday said the Congress was the only political party that respected all religions equally. He asserted that the State government would bring a strong law to prevent actions that insult any religion.

Speaking at Christmas celebrations held in the Gachibowli area, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was committed to safeguarding religious harmony. They also emphasized mutual respect among all communities.

He extended Christmas greetings to Christian brothers and sisters. Mahesh Kumar Goud said Jesus Christ was not just a religious figure for Christians but a symbol of humanity for the entire world.

The TPCC chief said every citizen in the country enjoyed complete freedom to worship their own religion and God. He urged youth to study history and understand the universal values preached by Jesus.

Mahesh Kumar Goud said the life and teachings of Jesus carried a powerful message for humanity. He added that as long as humanity existed, Jesus would continue to live in people’s hearts.

The TPCC chief attended the programme as chief guest along with Sampath Kumar. Other attendees included Mahila Congress president Sunitha Rao, Indira, Pastor Benjamin, and other leaders.

He reiterated that the Congress believed in unity in diversity and stood firmly for constitutional values and religious freedom.
