Hyderabad: Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Sunday said the Congress government remains committed to equitable development and aims to ensure that all communities and regions in Telangana receive equal treatment.
He addressed a series of events in Nizamabad, which included the launch of ₹60 crore worth of civic works, distribution of CMRF cheques, felicitation of Dalit representatives, and the 219th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Vadde Obanna.
At Vinayak Nagar, the Congress leaders launched integrated development works across 60 municipal divisions, allocating ₹1 crore to each. They also approved ₹6 crore for a new 33/11 KV substation to fix voltage fluctuations and power supply issues in the town.
Shabbir Ali, joined by PCC president and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, stated that the Congress government has eliminated political bias from development funding. “Earlier, there was discrimination. Now, every division is getting equal priority,” Shabbir Ali said. He explained that the funds will improve drainage systems, build internal roads, and install streetlights.
₹60 crore fund launch highlights equitable development focus
Mahesh Kumar Goud described the ₹60 crore investment as a starting point and assured the public of additional funding soon. “Our goal is to develop Nizamabad fully in every aspect,” he said. Other participants included MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta and NUDA Chairman Keshava Venu.

Later, at the R&B Guest House, 32 beneficiaries received Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques worth ₹26 lakh. Shabbir Ali called the CMRF a crucial support system for poor families facing medical or accidental emergencies. He urged officials and party workers to coordinate and ensure timely aid reaches genuine beneficiaries.
Mahesh Kumar Goud highlighted the transparent process of cheque distribution. “There are no middlemen or bribes. Assistance is reaching the right people directly,” he said.
During another programme at Ambedkar Bhavan, Mala Mahanadu honoured newly elected representatives from the Mala community. Shabbir Ali advised them to act as strong voices for the marginalised and to follow the path laid out by Dr B.R. Ambedkar. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uplift Dalit and backward communities.
Labour Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy, also present, pledged targeted funding for Dalit colonies. He said the government would focus on essential services such as drainage, drinking water, and concrete roads. Moreover, he encouraged promotion of education schemes like the Overseas Education Fund.

At Vaddera Colony, Shabbir Ali unveiled a statue of freedom fighter Vadde Obanna as part of the 219th birth anniversary celebrations. He reminded the audience that Obanna had resisted British rule alongside Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and led tribal fighters in the Nallamala forests. He urged the government to include Obanna’s story in school textbooks to honour his legacy.
