Hyderabad: A delegation of Congress minority leaders met Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar on Wednesday, seeking immediate action in response to a communal attack on the Taleem-ul-Quran madrasa and the dargah of Hazrat Gharib Shah Wali in Jinnaram mandal, Sangareddy district, on 22 April.
The delegation was led by TGMREIS President Mohammed Faheemuddin Qureshi, Telangana State Haj Committee Chairman Syed Ghulam Afzal Biabani Khusro Pasha, Osman bin Mohammed Al-Hajri, Osman Mohammed Khan, PCC Secretary, and Maulana Khaleeq Sabir, General Secretary of the Jamiat-ul-Ulema, among other leaders.
The leaders stated that the attack on Sangareddy madrasa endangered the lives of nearly 80 children studying at the madrasa and also desecrated a revered dargah. They urged the DGP to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible, protection for the victims, deployment of additional police forces, and the initiation of a judicial inquiry.
They emphasised that firm action against such incidents is essential to uphold communal harmony, justice, and constitutional values.
