Hyderabad: Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar launched a scathing attack on the BRS leadership on Wednesday, declaring that the KCR family owes its very identity in Telangana politics to the Congress party.

Speaking to reporters, Dayakar credited Sonia Gandhi and the Congress for realising the dream of a separate Telangana state, despite formidable challenges. “It was the Congress that gave Telangana to the people and paved the way for the TRS’s political rise,” he said.

Accusing the BRS leadership of opportunism, Dayakar alleged that at the time of statehood, KCR and TRS leaders had promised to merge with the Congress but later backed out with false assurances.

Turning his fire on the Kalvakuntla family, Dayakar alleged deep-rooted corruption. “Kavitha is trapped in the liquor scam, KTR is entangled in the Formula E case, and KCR himself is under the cloud of the Kaleshwaram scandal,” he charged.

Responding to KTR’s recent comments against the Congress, Dayakar warned, “The people of Telangana are not fools. If KTR continues to speak irresponsibly, the public will give the BRS a befitting reply at the right time.”
