Congress files complaint against BRS MLA Sudheer Reddy for poll code violation in Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad: The Congress Party lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission against BRS MLA Sudheer Reddy, accusing him of violating the election code and trying to influence voters in the Jubilee Hills by-election.

Congress alleges poll code violation

According to Congress leaders, Sudheer Reddy, the LB Nagar MLA, is not a registered voter in Jubilee Hills. Yet, he moved through several localities, meeting people and asking for support. They claimed this was a clear violation of election norms.

Moreover, they said Reddy visited polling booths 110 to 120 in Habeeb Fatima Nagar and urged voters to choose BRS. His actions, they added, created pressure on voters and disturbed the polling atmosphere.

Congress demands strict action

The party alleged that Reddy even threatened local voters who refused to back BRS. Therefore, they asked the Election Commission to bar Sudheer Reddy and his associates from entering the constituency until polling ends.

In addition, the leaders urged officials to ensure fair and peaceful voting. They warned that such violations could influence the election outcome if not addressed promptly.

Election officials reviewing complaint

Officials from the Election Department confirmed that they had received the complaint. They assured that the matter would be examined immediately, and action would follow if the allegations proved true.
