HYDERABAD, February 9: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has articulated an ambitious vision to position Telangana as a leading region on the global stage. Speaking at the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, he emphasized the state’s commitment to exemplary governance and sustainable development.
CM Reddy highlighted the state’s current Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of approximately $200 million, with aspirations to elevate it to $1 billion by 2035. He outlined a strategic plan to divide *Hyderabad* into core urban, semi-urban, and rural zones, aiming to develop the city to compete with global metropolises such as New York, London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul.
A cornerstone of this vision is the development of a “Future City” spanning 30,000 acres, envisioned as India’s greenest, cleanest, and most well-planned urban area. This initiative includes the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) City, along with the creation of the **Young India Skill University and the *Young India Sports University* to foster youth development.
Additionally, the government is undertaking the Musi River Rejuvenation Project to restore the river’s historical significance and environmental health. Plans are underway to integrate water from the Godavari River into the Musi, creating a confluence and developing a Gandhi Sarovar over 200 acres.
CM Reddy called for collaboration among southern states to protect constitutional guarantees and rights, emphasizing that the “Telangana Rising” initiative represents the collective aspirations of the state’s four crore residents.
These initiatives reflect Telangana’s commitment to sustainable urban development and economic growth, aiming to establish the state as a model of progress and innovation.
