Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy congratulated Telangana students for securing the overall championship at the EMRS National Sports Meet-2025. Moreover, he praised the young athletes for delivering a record-breaking performance at the national event. Minister Adluri Laxman and senior officials joined him in expressing their appreciation.
The championship took place on 15 November 2025 in Odisha. As a result, Telangana emerged as the standout performer among all participating states. Students from 23 EMRS institutions, representing Telangana, demonstrated strong determination throughout the competition. Additionally, the Chief Minister said their dedication highlighted the state’s growing talent base.

Telangana students claimed 230 medals, the highest tally at the meet. They excelled in athletics, archery, swimming, gymnastics, boxing, judo, wrestling, weightlifting, taekwondo, yoga, shooting, chess and several other events. Furthermore, their consistent scores kept Telangana in the lead across multiple rounds.
Nationwide, the meet drew 5,500 students from 499 EMRS institutions across 22 states. Competitions took place in 22 events, including 15 individual and 7 team categories. Telangana sent 580 students, creating one of the most competitive contingents at the national meet.

Students from Telangana showed exceptional form in both team and individual segments. They secured durable leads in several events and strengthened their score through steady performance. Moreover, they ended the meet with 714 points, clinching the overall championship with a wide margin.
The Chief Minister said the achievement reflected the hard work of students, teachers and coaches. In addition, he hoped their success would inspire more students to enter national-level sports and aim for international achievements in the future.
