CM, Ministers to launch 90-day field outreach

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Ministers will launch a 90-day field outreach immediately after the Assembly budget sessions, with plans to tour villages and towns across the State.

The government aims to identify public grievances during the 90-day field outreach and resolve issues that require limited funds without delay. Accordingly, it has asked all departments to submit detailed reports on programmes that can be taken up during the drive.

90-day field outreach to focus on grassroots issues

The Assembly budget session began on March 16 and will conclude on March 30. Thereafter, the government will begin field programmes within two to three days. Although it has not finalised a name for the initiative, it intends to continue the 90-day field outreach without interruption.

During the programme, the CM, Ministers, MLAs and officials will visit constituencies and interact directly with citizens. They will identify problems on the ground and sanction funds for works that require minimal expenditure.

Meanwhile, the government expects the outreach to create a positive atmosphere. It believes direct engagement will reduce the gap between the administration and the public.

The programme will prioritise sanitation, greenery, drinking water supply, school repairs, anganwadi facilities and electricity issues in villages. In addition, the government plans to set up a special wing to address individual grievances such as pensions, ration cards and Dharani-related complaints.

Action plan and election strategy

The government directed all department secretaries to prepare reports for the 90-day field outreach action plan. The CM will review the proposals in the first week of March and finalise the schedule.

It aims to complete the programme before schools reopen. At the same time, the government hopes to generate a feel-good factor ahead of MPTC and ZPTC elections.

Elections to MPTCs, ZPTCs and three corporations are likely after the monsoon. Therefore, the outreach may assume political significance.

Additionally, the government is considering releasing Yasangi Rythu Bharosa funds before launching the field visits. It believes early release will ensure a favourable public response during the 90-day field outreach.
