Chief Minister gives ₹1 crore insurance to families of deceased energy staff

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy gave ₹1 crore insurance cheques to the families of energy department employees who died on duty.

He handed the cheques to the families of Orsu Suresh and Mukhtar Beg during a programme held alongside the Assembly session. The move, therefore, aimed to support bereaved families.

Insurance support extended to the families of deceased employees

The Chief Minister appreciated Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka for supporting the families. He said the government introduced measures to ensure that no family faced hardship after losing its breadwinner.

He said the state enhanced Rajiv Aarogyasri coverage from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh. As a result, this step aimed to improve healthcare access.

In addition, he announced that families identified through the CPEC survey would receive ₹5 lakh insurance coverage.

He said the government extended accident insurance of over ₹1 crore to power sector employees and Singareni workers. Thus, the move aimed to strengthen social security.

He added that the cheque distribution during the Assembly session aimed to boost confidence among employees and their families.

Meanwhile, several ministers attended the programme. These included Bhatti Vikramarka, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Jupally Krishna Rao, Seethakka, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Vivek Venkataswamy, and Uttam Kumar Reddy. Principal Secretary (Energy) Navin Mittal was also present.
