Hyderabad: ACB officials arrested Chandur deputy tahsildar Chandrasekhar on Thursday night after they caught him accepting nearly ₹20,000 from a farmer. The ACB said Chandrasekhar demanded ₹15,000 to supply information sought under the Right to Information Act. The complainants had requested details about an alleged illegal registration in Teratpalli village of Gattuppal mandal.
Acting on the victim’s complaint, ACB teams laid a trap. They moved to Chandrasekhar’s residence in the Balapur area of Hyderabad and nabbed him during the handover. The ACB seized the cash and escorted the officer into custody.
