Chandrababu announces ₹5 lakh aid after woman tied to tree in Chittoor

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday condemned the treatment of a woman who was allegedly tied to a tree over a loan issue in Chittoor district’s Narayanapuram village under Kuppam mandal.

Naidu spoke directly to the woman, identified as Sireesha, and sought details of the incident. He described the act as inhumane and said such behaviour would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Sireesha told the Chief Minister that she had faced repeated harassment in the past and was now living in fear with her three children. Naidu inquired about the children’s education and advised her to ensure they continue their studies.

Upon learning of her financial difficulties, the Chief Minister announced immediate financial assistance of ₹5 lakh and assured that the state government would take full responsibility for her children’s education.

He directed district officials to submit a detailed report on the incident and to extend all necessary support to the family without delay.

Naidu also assured Sireesha of the government’s full backing and urged her not to lose courage.
