Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy moves no-confidence against Lok Sabha Speaker

Hyderabad: Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said opposition parties have moved a no-confidence motion against Om Birla, the Lok Sabha Speaker.

Speaking to the media on Monday, the MP alleged that the Speaker did not allow opposition members to speak in Parliament.

He said the second phase of the budget session of Parliament of India is about to begin.

He accused the Speaker of preventing Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other opposition MPs from speaking in the House.

Lok Sabha Speaker accused of favouring ruling alliance

Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that the Speaker gave preference to BJP and NDA members during debates.

He said the Speaker should give equal opportunity to all MPs in the House.

The MP also alleged that opposition members did not receive proper priority in the 18th Lok Sabha.

He further claimed that some ruling party members disrupted Rahul Gandhi whenever he tried to speak.

According to him, MPs such as Nishikant Dubey and Anurag Thakur received microphone access even when it was not necessary.

Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy also criticised statements made about women MPs allegedly attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said such remarks sent wrong signals to the public.

The MP demanded a discussion in Parliament on the conflict between Iran and Israel.

He also criticised decisions related to tariffs on imports from the United States.

Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy questioned how former US President Donald Trump could influence issues that should be debated in Parliament.

He also demanded discussion on the suspension of eight MPs in the Lok Sabha.

The MP said all 543 members of the House would have the opportunity to vote on the no-confidence motion.
