Centre approves Ramagiri ropeway project for tourism boost

Hyderabad: The Union government approved a long-awaited ropeway project for tourism development at Ramagiri Fort, Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi announced on Monday.

The ₹2.46 crore project will build a 2.1-kilometre ropeway from the foothills to the fort top. Vamsi said the facility would give pilgrims and tourists safe, convenient access. He added that the Centre had also sanctioned ₹2.5 crore for nearby tourism infrastructure.

Ramagiri ropeway project to boost tourism and jobs

The MP credited persistent efforts with officials for the approval. He said he repeatedly highlighted Ramagiri’s historical and spiritual importance. He also stressed the urgent need for infrastructure. “That effort has now yielded results,” he stated.

Vamsi explained that the ropeway would ease pilgrim travel and create local jobs. He said it would also generate income for small businesses. He called the project a new chapter in Ramagiri’s growth. Once complete, the ropeway will bring national recognition to the fort and raise its profile as a major tourist spot.
