Hyderabad: Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and an immediate halt to the SIR process. He made the demand while speaking to ABN-Andhrajyothy on Tuesday.
Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that authorities deleted lakhs of votes in several States in the name of SIR. He also said INDIA bloc MPs would march from Parliament to the Election Commission office.
Accordingly, the MPs planned to submit a memorandum to the Election Commission. However, Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that authorities prevented MPs from proceeding from Parliament to the poll panel.
The MP further alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah controlled the Election Commission. He accused the two leaders of attempting to “kill” democracy.

Meanwhile, INDIA bloc MPs gathered at Parliament’s Makar Dwar to protest against the Election Commission. They then decided to march on foot to the Election Commission office.
Kiran Kumar Reddy said the protest would oppose the Election Commission’s functioning and the SIR process. He also demanded that CEC Gyanesh Kumar resign.
Meanwhile, police deployed a large number of personnel around the Parliament premises. The INDIA bloc MPs had gathered at Makar Dwar before the planned march to the Election Commission office.
