CBI secures Anil Kumar Reddy Yeddula return from UAE

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation secured the Anil Kumar Reddy Yeddula return from the UAE through INTERPOL coordination, bringing him back to India on February 26.

Yeddula, who faced multiple cases registered by Andhra Pradesh Police, arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from Dubai under official escort. Authorities immediately handed him over to the State police.

Investigators had booked him in cases involving cheating, criminal breach of trust and criminal intimidation. Earlier, INTERPOL issued a Red Notice against him in September 2022 at the request of Andhra Pradesh Police.

CBI acted as India’s National Central Bureau for INTERPOL and coordinated closely with authorities in the UAE. In addition, the agency worked in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs to complete the Anil Kumar Reddy Yeddula return process.

INTERPOL Red Notice enabled Anil Kumar Reddy Yeddula return

Officials said the Red Notice played a crucial role in locating and securing custody of the fugitive. After confirming his presence in the UAE, agencies initiated the formal process for his return.

The coordinated effort ensured his transfer under escort without incident. As a result, Andhra Pradesh Police can now proceed with further legal action in the pending cases.

According to officials, more than 130 wanted criminals have been repatriated to India in recent years through INTERPOL channels. Authorities stated that such cooperation has strengthened cross-border law enforcement efforts.
