Hyderabad: A serious security alert unfolded at Hyderabad’s Moosapet Metro Station on Monday after metro staff found a bullet in the bag of a 12-year-old boy during routine checks.
Bullet detected during bag screening
The boy, a resident of Pragathi Nagar near Kukatpally, had reportedly come alone to the metro station. During the bag screening, security staff spotted a 9mm bullet inside. They immediately informed the metro in-charge, who then contacted the Kukatpally police.
Soon after, police arrived at the station and took the boy for questioning.
Boy claims bullet belonged to ex-army grandfather
The boy told investigators that the bullet belonged to his grandfather, who had served in the military. He said he found it at home and brought it along when he left the house without informing anyone.
Officers have registered a case and launched an investigation. They are verifying the boy’s claims and examining how the ammunition was stored at home. Police are also checking whether the bullet was kept legally.
