BTech graduate elected as sarpanch in Nalgonda village

Hyderabad: A BTech graduate elected as sarpanch gained wide attention in Nalgonda after 21-year-old Boyapalli Anusha secured a strong win in Islampur village. She completed her BTech this year and earned a campus placement. However, she chose public service over private employment.

Anusha contested the election with BRS support and faced a senior Congress-backed leader. She won the contest with a margin of 182 votes. Villagers appreciated her interest in politics and supported her plan to improve local governance. Many believed her education would help the village grow faster.

Anusha said she entered politics to show that educated youth could uplift villages through better planning. She thanked residents for their support and said their trust strengthened her resolve.
