Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is expected to nominate Maganti Sunitha, widow of the late MLA Maganti Gopinath, as its candidate for the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election.
On Wednesday, Sunitha and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao attended a party workers’ meeting at Telangana Bhavan. The meeting focused on Rahmath Nagar, a key division within the Jubilee Hills constituency. Party sources said signals given during the meeting hinted clearly at her probable candidacy.
Though the party has yet to make a formal announcement, Sunitha’s appearance alongside KTR at a constituency-level event has fuelled strong speculation. BRS has already deployed a team to manage the bypoll campaign. KTR is offering direct guidance to party workers on the ground.
