HYDERABAD: BRS activists staged a massive protest in front of the Telangana Assembly on Friday, accusing the Congress government of failing to fulfill its election promises. The protestors alleged that the government had neglected public welfare and was not delivering on its commitments.
Carrying party flags and banners, the BRS activists raised slogans against the Congress government. They criticized the ruling party for not implementing key welfare schemes promised during the elections. The protest caused traffic congestion in the area, with police deployed to control the situation.
BRS leaders accused the Congress of deceiving the people with false promises. They highlighted issues like the lack of farm loan waivers, unemployment benefits, and failure to provide free electricity to farmers, which were part of the Congress manifesto.
Addressing the media, BRS leaders warned that the party would intensify its protests if the Congress government failed to meet its pre-election commitments. They vowed to continue their agitation until the government took action.
The Hyderabad police detained several BRS activists for disrupting public order. However, the protestors vowed to carry on their demonstrations, demanding the Congress government fulfill its promises and prioritize public welfare.
