Hyderabad: The BJP has questioned the Congress candidate Naveen Yadav’s links with AIMIM, accusing him of harbouring dual loyalties ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election.
Telangana BJP chief spokesperson NV Subhash cited Yadav’s past affiliation with AIMIM and his recent statements referring to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi as his “Guru” and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as his “Godfather.” According to Subhash, these remarks indicate a covert alliance between the Congress and AIMIM.
He noted that Yadav, who previously contested on an MIM ticket, is now running under the Congress symbol, raising concerns about the clarity of his political allegiance. Subhash alleged that the Congress is plotting to hand over the GHMC Mayor’s post to AIMIM if it gains control.
BJP accuses Congress of betrayal on BC quota, housing
The BJP further attacked the Congress government for demolishing homes of the people with low incomes while leaving illegal constructions in the Old City untouched. Subhash warned that such alleged biases could harm the identity of “Brand Hyderabad,” which he said was under threat of becoming “Brand Razakars.”
Commenting on the backward class reservation issue, Subhash said the Congress was misleading the public with promises of a 42 per cent quota, despite the Supreme Court’s cap of 50 per cent. He criticised Government Order No.9 as legally untenable and wasteful, accusing the state of spending public funds on unnecessary legal battles.
He appealed to voters to reject what he called a Congress-BRS-AIMIM conspiracy and support the BJP in the upcoming bypoll.
