Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao on Saturday demanded immediate implementation of the six guarantees promised by the Congress ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections, accusing the government of betraying voters.
In an open letter addressed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Rao said the Congress won public support on the basis of these guarantees, which were to be rolled out within 100 days of assuming power. Nearly 600 days later, he claimed, not a single guarantee had been fully executed.
Rao further alleged that Congress leaders had circulated village-level pamphlets signed by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, listing 63 subsidiary promises tied to the six major guarantees. The party had also placed high-profile advertisements in leading newspapers to showcase its commitments.
He said the government’s inaction had left Telangana citizens feeling cheated, adding that repeated reminders had failed to push the Congress to act on its own word. Rao urged the Chief Minister to address public frustration by delivering on the guarantees without further delay.
